Construction journal: it's a half an inch of water and you think you're gonna drown

More like two inches of water in 36 hours.  

Maybe we just built a very expensive reflecting pool.  

Mid-August is normally dry in this part of the country. Alas for normal.  

We will soon be stocking pike in the moat

On the bright side, we got 7 quarts of tomatoes canned in this cool weather.
